We just spent the entire day hiking up at Church Mountain around the Mt. Baker area. It was an AWESOME hike. We left the house at 8:30, made a rather quick trip the grocery store and headed up to begin hiking before 10 am. We weren't off the mountain until 5 pm! We ran into snow, which slowed us down quite a bit. I must admit there were times when I was wondering if it was going to end in disaster. I made a poor choice and ended up wearing cotton everything and my running shoes. NOT prepared at all! Let's just say that as we did HUGE butt slides back down the mountain over the snow fields, it looked as though I had jumped in a lake! We had great hiking weather, though and a great view at 6000 feet. This pictures shows us: John, Amelia, Jacob, Chris and Corina. I absolutely LOVE hiking and it was a perfect day! Oh and we stopped off at the North Fork for dinner. It is a cool pub/beer shrine/wedding chapel/pizziaria right off the Mt. Baker highway that has great beer and food and always welcomes those right off the mountain!
