I love the smell of outside

I have come to the conclusion that I will never be able to do an indoor job. I don't think I will ever work as a traditional teacher, though my college education has not gone to waste. God always has plans that we least expect, but I love the outdoors and I think I would go nuts with too ridgid of a schedule. Funny when I was little that my parents had to bribe me to be outside and I always loved rainy days and indoor recess. :) I still love rainy days, but I certainly look at them differently. I love the smell of coldness...if you agree you will know what I mean. I love when you come into a cabin from being outside working hard and the frosty smell radiates off of you. I think that is one of my favorite comfort smells :) Maybe it came from cross country skiing or snowshoeing or something. All I know is that I love it. Even though the coldness means not only that we get fires going in the cabins, but also that we have to get up more in the middle night to stock fires, I still love it. I am finding Wyoming a lot more beautiful now when the mountians are accented with deep dark clouds and beautiful sunrises. It always amazes me how fast fall comes upon us and then winter. I think the leaves turned yellow overnight.... I heard rumors that we are supposed to get a lot of snow this winter...and I am praying we do!
I am off to enjoy my three days off...it is nice to have a little alone time :)
**Oh and the best news is that I get to go home and visit my parents and Katmai in 2 weeks. YEA! It has been NINE months! Can't beat a $20 ticket either-thank God for airline miles!
