Angie and Jerry were gracious enough to buy all us staff tickets to the Cody Stampede for two different nights. The stampede runs all weekend through the 4th (4 nights) so we can work around work schedules and therefore can all get there a couple nights. I must be turning Western or something because I loved it! :) I had to get some "Fat Babys" (see picture) for the occasion to fit in and borrowed a hat. It is funny-I never really thought that Western culture was so real. I was talking to Angie last night and she was saying that the shirts change a bit and maybe the belts, but the Wranglers are always the same throughout the years and they all like it that way. :)
Cody has a rodeo all summer long every night but the stampede is different because these are the pros that come from all over the country. They are pretty amazing what they can do. However, I am also told that the ego of a Cowboy beats out any other athlete. HA!
Wyoming is without a doubt VERY conservative. They pray before every rodeo, they wear their Wranglers and are very patriotic. It is true "American Culture." Quite a bit different from Bellingham in many respects, but it is nice to know that you can talk about God and your faith here and not worry what others think. I am slowing learning about this place! ;)
